Caring 4 Canines

Foster Agreement

Foster Guidelines and Expectations
• Fosters are responsible for getting fosters to all necessary vet appointments. Caring 4 Canines will pay for all vetting at the assigned vet. If you are unable to get a foster to an appointment, arrangements can be made or appointments will need to be
rescheduled. Let Caring 4 Canines know as soon as possible if arrangements need to be
• Fosters are responsible for sending in pictures and bios of their foster in order to
be posted within 5 days.
• Foster are responsible for bringing their foster to adoption events at least twice a
• Fosters are responsible for providing food, shelter, exercise and training as
needed for their foster. Foster animals should be treated as one of your own. If
help is needed with supplies, arrangements can be made with Caring 4 Canines.
• All puppies will need to be kept at home, away from other puppies for 10-14
days and will not be allowed to go to an adoption event until after their second
round of shots and they are spayed/neutered. This is to keep puppies from being
exposed to illnesses. Pictures and information of the puppies can always be
brought to events, shared on Facebook, etc.
• All fosters will need to fill out a foster application and keep Caring 4 Canines up to date

• All adoptions need to be approved by a representative designated by Caring 4 Canines.
Adoption applications MUST be submitted, home visits completed, vet references
checked BEFORE the foster can go to a new home. The adoption fee will be
collected at the time the foster goes to their new home or before. Adoption fees
are non-refundable after 5 days.
• All dogs will be spayed/neutered, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations,
heartworm tested before being adopted.
• All public events/fundraisers will need to be approved by Caring 4 Canines!
• Caring 4 Canines will decide what dogs can be rescued and part of the rescue. This is
based on foster availability and approval, funds for medical needs and other
factors determined by Caring 4 Canines.
• When attending events, all foster dogs MUST be supervised closely. There should
be one handler per dog unless they are small puppies that are in a crate or pen.
Collars need to be secure so the dogs can’t slip out of them. Meet and greets
with other dogs needs to be done away from the group. Events can be stressful,
never assume that just because a dog is friendly outside of the event that they
will be dog friendly AT the event. Foster parents will need to stay at the events
with their foster unless previous arrangements are made. After all, you as the
foster are the best advocate for your foster dog!
• If a foster wants to adopt their foster dog, they MUST decide this BEFORE an
application has been received and processed. Once an application comes in, it
must be followed up on. Foster will be required to pay adoption fee.

• If you are going out of town or need someone to watch your foster dog, you will
be responsible for notifying Caring 4 Canines as soon as possible to make arrangements.
If you have a pet sitter who can watch your foster, you will need to share the
contact information with Caring 4 Canines so contact with someone can be made if
